Finally we had good enough weather to get out of Billings and decided to gun for Yellowstone, since the North entrance opening date was upon us. We visited this NP in 2007, and spent just about 2 days there due to the insane crowds. So this time we were expecting to have the park for ourselves.

We drove to through Mammoth Springs and the road to Norris with spectacular views all along.
We scouted the Mammoth Springs campground inside the National Park. It was open, it had nice long pull-throughs, but...the campground has two loops, and the bigger loop was still closed. RV's over 25' need the bigger loop to get out of the campground. The smaller loop, has a hairpin turn, that is too tight for long RVs.
