Our first Girona Moment of this trip...

2010-03-08
Today we drove from Fort Davis to Balmorhea. On this route, I had my first “Girona Moment”.
The moment came while having an impromptu lunch on a nondescript spot in the astonishingly beautiful area of Wild Rose Pass. Funny how, it seems, that you can not plan these moments, they just come unexpectedly.

After lunch we arrived at Balmorhea State Park and it was practically empty, sans a couple of divers scuba diving in the pool/spring. After checking the park we drove a couple of miles to the actual town of Balmorhea TX. There I found more material for the first project that started to emerge on our first stop back in Terlingua TX, a photographic project about travel trailers.

Vicky took her turn at the wheel, and we drove back to Fort Davis where she browsed thrift stores and local shops. All in all, a perfect day of quiet slow paced discovery.
